The Krow Writer's Top Novels - 2023 Edition

Welcome to the Writing Wednesday Blog!

Wednesday as all of you know is my day to do what I love to do most... WRITE! I also use this day to promote, plan, and do anything else that is Author Related.

In today's Writing Wednesday Blog I want to take the time to look back at the great year of how my books sold and which ones, you, my readers thought were the best. It is interesting to point out that all my books sold in 2023 came from my Signing Saturday Events at Charlin's Book Nook and at Covered Bridge Shop both located in Frankenmuth, Michigan where I seem to have a huge base of readers. It is fact I have more interest in my favorite city than in my own hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan where I live. I'm not complaining as Frankenmuth is a fantastic place! One day, I will live there, until that time I will be more than happy to commute to where my base is!

Now without any more further ado, here are my novels currently out and how they sold over 2023...

Coming in this year at #7 with 1 Copy SoldThe Snowball Effect

Even The Tiniest Of Snowflakes Can Get A Snowball Rolling. Sometimes That Snowflake Isn’t So Tiny. For Quentin, It’s A Major Life Altering Event With The Sudden Passing Of His Mother. This Singular Event Sets Off A Chain Of Events That Send His Life Cascading Out Of Control. Alone And Feeling Sorry For Himself, He Recounts His Year Of Hell And Concludes…One Way Or Another…The Snowball Effect Has To End.

Now I want to point out The Snowball Effect was pulled out of the rotation in my book signings this past year. So, this effected its sales. The one copy sold this year was in The Krow Writer Collection 2012-2023 Box Set, and at the present time the only way to purchase a book is through Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) or through the link on my website.

Moving onto #6 with 6 Copies SoldThe Game Jynx’d

Bored And Looking To Amuse Himself, A Being Notorious For Causing Mischief And Mayhem Throughout The Universe, Known To All As Jynx, Has An Epiphany To End His Suffering. Bring Together Five Of The Greatest Captains In The Syndicate Of The Worlds History And Match Them Against A Team Of Their Best Nemeses In A Futuristic Dodgeball Game… “Pace”. In A Game That Requires Skill, Determination, And A little Wit To Win, The Captains Must Work Together In Order To Defeat Jynx And His Team Of Their Greatest Foes.

Regardless Of The Outcome…The Game Is Jynx’d!

Though not a big seller this past year, The Game Jynx’d did surpass 2022 sales by 2 copies. The decision has yet to be made whether it will stay in the rotation at signings in the future. For now, it will but you can also pick this novel up at Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) or through the link on my website.

In the #5 spot this year with 9 Copies SoldMurder In The Storm

Another good year for this title. Down by 1 Copy from 2022 but still a solid title. Purchase this title from Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) or through the link on my website.

Landing at the #4 spot for the year with a lucky number of 13 CopiesThe Demon Of Sweet Briar

Dr. Fredrich “Fritz” Vanek, M.E. At Sweet Briar General, Has Determined The Cause Of Death In All Of His Cases Throughout His Career. He Has Seen Just About Everything. Until Today. After Getting A Call From His Best Friend And Chief Of Police, Robert Kreuger, About The Sudden Death Of His Newborn Daughter, Fritz Is Asked To Assist In Her Autopsy. If Fritz Isn’t Careful, He Could End Up Being The Next Victim Of…THE DEMON OF SWEET BRIAR!

13 seems to be this book’s lucky number as it sold the same number of copies in 2022. This book does very well during my Scare Crow Fest Signing Saturday for obvious reasons. It too is available at Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) and through the link on my website.

Heading into the top three at the #3 spot with 22 CopiesThe Seventh Year

Sometimes Terror Is A Family Tradition. No One Knows This Better Than Forrest Saunders. He Alone Is Aware Of A Dark Secret About His Family’s Past, A Secret That’s About To Be Revealed. A Visit From His Grandson Aaron Turns Out To Be Anything But Casual After A Song Heard On The Radio Sets Forrest Off. Forrest Begins Telling Aaron About A Creature That Dwells In The Northern Michigan Woods Know As The Dogman. A Creature That He Claims Has Been Attacking Their Family Each Decade Since 1887 During The Seventh Year. Though Aaron Is Skeptical Of His Grandfather’s Tale, Forrest Is Convinced That The Dogman’s Attacks On The Family Have To End. And They Have To End With Him. Forrest Will Soon Learn That He Cannot Outrun The Horrific Events Of His Family’s Past To Alter Its Future. For Now, It’s 2007… The Seventh Year Is Here…

The Seventh Year is one of my best sellers each year and sells more each year. This year it is up 4 copies to last year. It is also one of those titles that sell at every signing I have at a pretty good rate. Again, it is also very popular around Halloween. The reason should be obvious. Get it at Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) or through the link here on my website.

Down from its perch over the last few years at the #1 spot coming in at the #2 Spot with 50 CopiesSaint Nick

Christmas…The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. It Is A Season Filled With Gift Giving, Joy, Happiness, And Of Course Visits With Santa Claus, A Beloved Symbol Of Christmas By Children Of All Ages. This Is What Heather Fahs Is Most Looking Forward To On Her Trip To Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland. Heather Will Come To Realize This Visit With Santa Will Be An Extraordinary One. For The Santa Who Awaits Her Visit Is No Ordinary Santa. He Is The One True Santa Claus, St. Nicholas, And He Is There With A Purpose. Convince This Young Lady He Is Truly Santa, That He Is Merely Part Of The Season, And Most Importantly… What The True Meaning Of Christmas Was Meant To Be. Though Simple, A Daunting Task. But If Anyone Can Achieve This, It Must Be… SAINT NICK.

Saint Nick is one of those books that evening though it is “Christmas” in theme sells year-round. It increased its sales this year over 2022 by 3 copies. 50 copies of a book sold by someone like me who is self-published, is amazing and I look for this title to continue its run. Now Saint Nick has multiple options for purchase. It can be purchase from Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online), on Amazon, or any bookstore in the world that can order a book. Signed Copies of the book (other than book signings) are available only in Frankenmuth, Michigan exclusively at Charlin’s Book Nook. Links for Schuler’s, Amazon, and Charlin’s are all on my website.

That leaves the #1 book of 2023 with a staggering 128 Copies SoldWhat Happened To The ‘Muth’?

Michigan’s Little Bavaria Has Vanished! Frankenmuth, Home To World-Famous Chicken Dinners, The World’s Largest Christmas Store, And Rich German Heritage Has Been Wiped From The Map And Erased From Everyone’s Memory. Everyone That Is Except Duncan Schmitt. As Life Returns To Normal One Year After The Covid Pandemic, Duncan Makes Plans To Visit His Favorite City Of Frankenmuth, Only To Discover It’s Been Replaced By A City Named, Ravenscroft. With The Assistance Of A Mysterious Acquaintance And Support From His Best Friend, Ryker, Duncan Must Travel Back Through History To Find Out… What Happened To The ‘Muth’?

128 copies sold for my 7th novel in just 6 months! I’m blown away by the response. Just goes to show my passion for my favorite town of Frankenmuth both in this book and Saint Nick really have paid off. I don’t doubt that I will revisit the town in another story down the line. Be interested to see what this book will do in 2024. Time will tell. What Happened To The ‘Muth’? is available at Schuler Books Grand Rapids (In Store/Online) along with my other titles. Like Saint Nick, Signed Copies of the book (other than book signings) are available exclusively in Frankenmuth, Michigan. You can purchase them in store and online at Charlin’s Book Nook and at The Covered Bridge Shop. Links to all available as always on my website.

There you have it my friends. The Krow Writer’s Best Sellers of 2023. Which one(s) are you favorite and why? The inquiring mind of the Krow Writer would love to know. Drop me an email at bkrowwriter@gmail.com and tell me. Remember reviews are the best thing you can give a self-published author as it helps me know where I did well and what I need to improve. It also aids in promoting the books. All feedback I can get is always welcome and appreciated… good or bad. I am also a Good Reads Author. So, you can go to www.goodreads.com and leave a rating and a review on all the books as they are all listed. Again, it helps.

How will these books rank out next year? That is the question. There may also possibly be an 8th book in the mix as well. Time will tell on that one and will also be part of another blog later this year as it gets closer to fruition. Lots of Signing Saturdays in 2024 as well stay tuned for the official list in an upcoming Writing Wednesday Blog. Finally, I want to thank everyone that purchased a book or books this year as well as those who helped promote my work and supported me as a self-published author. It is appreciated more than you know! 2023 was a great year and many new strides were made. 2024 will keep building on 2023 and who knows. All I know is I love what I do and won’t, as well as don’t, know how to give up.

Till Next Time…
