Welcome To The Writing Wednesday Blog!
It's been a bit but I wanted to share this with everyone as I appreciate when organizations go the extra mile to assist in promoting authors and their work. A Novel Event is one of those.
Recently, they reached out to their authors who have particpated in their events over the last year by creating an Author Interview Series. The sole purpose of this series was to promote the author and help get the word out about them and their writing. Of course, I tossed my hat into the ring for this and submitted my questionnaire to them back in late July, early August.
Just after Labor Day, I received notification to proof my interview to ensure everything was good to go. On September 13, 2025 I received the email from A Novel Event: The Author Series with my published interview that was sent to everyone on their mailing list. Below I have copied that interview so that you can give it a read. This makes the second one this year!
*Please note that this interview form was sent in back in a couple of months. If you read my most recent Writing Wednesday Blog you know that my beloved fur baby Tess crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 30 prior to the interviews publication.
Without further ado, here is A Novel Event: The Author Series Interview with yours truly...
Author Brandon G. Kroupa is back with his latest release “30 Storeys.” He’ll be at A Novel Event: The Indie Author Feature Chapter 2 at in Fenton on Saturday, Oct. 4!
Brandon G. Kroupa, a self-published author, has published more than seven books including "What Happened To The "Muth"?." You will find him every "Writing Wednesday," as they have come to be known, sitting comfortably in his home office, listening to movie scores or Christmas music, while working on the next novel.

What genre of books do you write?
My books are all various types of fiction. I have written a Thriller, Drama, Holiday Fiction, Science Fiction, Murder Mystery, Horror, Historical Fiction, and various Short Story Fictions. Guess you can say I haven't found my niche yet.
What book(s) are you promoting now?
"30 Storeys"
Tell us about your most recent release.
My upcoming release is about a self-published author who has an opportunity with an actual publisher. After a successful meeting, he goes to leave when tragedy strikes as the cables in the elevator he is in snap! As he plummets 30 Storeys, he recounts a story for each floor he passes.
What authors/books inspire you?
I am inspired by Authors such as Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe, J.R.R. Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis. Their works respectively of "IT", "The Raven", "The Hobbit", and "The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe" have always been among my favorites and inspire me to this day every time I read them.
What themes do you explore in your writing?
I have explored themes of family, friendships, and history within my writing. Simply depends on what the story may call for as to what needs could possibly be explored.
How do you create your characters?
I create my characters using characteristics and attributes of friends, family, and everyday people I have come into contact with.
What are your methods for creating a plot?
I rely on outlining to create my plots and storyline. I figure out where I need to start, end, perhaps a middle area and then piece it together. Sometimes, it works itself out from the start. Other times it takes a bit.
If you were stranded on an island, which of your characters would you want to be stuck there with?
Most would think that Saint Nicholas would be my obvious choice due to my love of Santa. However, it would actually be the main character of my first novel, "The Seventh Year", Forrest Saunders. He's modeled after my grandfather whom I so enjoyed spending time with growing up. Who better to be stranded on an island with.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!
Yes, I do have two pets. They are the cutest Pom-Chi dogs. Tess and Newt and are my spoiled rotten fur babies!

What's the best part of being an author?
The Writing Process and telling stories that I think people will want to read.
Do you have any upcoming events?
My next event is The Oktoberfest Signing Saturday at Charlin's Book Nook in Frankenmuth, Michigan, on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10am to 5pm. On that day, I will be debuting my latest novel "30 Storeys".
I will also be at A Novel Event: The Indie Author Feature Chapter 2 at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center in Fenton on Saturday, Oct. 4!
What shows and movies have you been watching recently?
Have been watching "The Gilded Age", "Shetland", and "The Last Kingdom" for shows. Movie wise "Godzilla minus 1", "The Black Hole (classic)"; and Marvel Films.
What's the funniest question you've been asked as an author?
While I was doing a recent book signing, a gentleman came up to my table and asked me if I had ever written a book. I answered that I had. His response was, then do you know anything about the books here on this table? My response to him was I sure hope so, I wrote all of them. The look of surprise on his face made the day.
What is your favorite coffee or tea beverage?
Is this a trick question? Coffee of course!
